    Beautiful, every petal.

Ever been to the dahlia garden at Haywood Community College in Clyde, NC.? Outstanding !
Try the rose garden at Lake Junaluska, same area.

Marian, no question about it, this one is gorgeous! I love the symmetry of the petals.
In 40+ years of gardening, I’ve never grown dahlias til this year. I ordered some plants online and the box arrived with 3 free dahlias thrown in. Stuck ‘um in the dirt (cuz ya can’t throw away free plants, right?). My fave of the 3 has a blossom the size of a small cantaloup, with twisted petals that lack symmetry and are cream on one side and rosy red on the other. It’s called “Nick Sr.” and I’m hooked! It’s a wild looking thing that reminds me of Chihuly glass sculpture! Do you grow them?
