Wonderful sunny photo Marian. I am just catching up with your old posts and looking for your English Garden posts, I hope you had a wonderful time over here.

I just planted several “Little Joes” in a flower bed that I am updating. I’ve always loved seeing the wild Joe Pye weed blooming in the mountains, in part because it signals the approach of fall and cooler weather, but also because bees and butterflies love it. I was delighted to find smaller versions at my favorite garden center in Charlotte.

Pat–Large or small, I agree Joe-Pye is a great plant for the sunny garden. I like it for all the same reasons you do. I have my fingers crossed that cooler weather is arriving sooner rather than later this year.

Julie–I had a wonderful trip in June, in fact the best ever, and am headed your way again on Friday. This time it is the Cotswolds and London. Just starting to pack and get excited!
